PushSpring collects interest and behavioral data about mobile devices. This data is tied only to an anonymous device advertising ID, and not to a particular, identifiable individual. For each advertising ID, PushSpring processes the collected data to create an assumed profile of the user of that device. We do not know, and have no means to know the identity of the user of a particular device.
PushSpring creates “targeting segments”, which are groups of assumed profiles that meet certain criteria. These targeting segments are used to send advertisements to the users of the devices identified in a specific targeting segment.
We collect, through our own apps and third party apps, information about the device itself, such as operating system, IP address, device advertising ID, installed applications, or device settings, and information about the device user’s interaction with certain mobile apps installed on the device or advertisements sent to the device.
We perform analytics to create an assumed profile of the user of a device associated with a particular advertising ID. These assumed profiles are then grouped in targeting segments that group profiles that meet certain criteria (for example, “interested in adventure travel and located in Oregon”).
We perform targeted advertising services on behalf of our customers. We also license the use of the targeting segments for digital advertising purposes.
We share information about mobile device users with our service providers who assist us in the provision of our services. We license the use of targeting segments with our distribution partners and third party advertising platforms who perform targets advertising services. We also share information as required by law. In the event of a disposition of our assets, we will transfer all information collected to the successor entity.
Mobile device users who do not want to receive interest based advertising served by PushSpring may opt-out in several ways:
Please note that (a) there will be a lag for an advertising ID to be removed from previously distributed Targeting Segments that are already active at the time when the opt-out is exercised and (b) opting-out will not block general advertisements that are sent at random, and not tied to the perceived interest of the User of a particular device.
To stop all tracking immediately (i.e. from PushSpring or any other entity) mobile device users can turn on “Limit Ad Tracking” in their device settings.
